Morning Moments

There may be someone somewhere who doesn't like something NEW, but I would think it is safe to say that 99.9% of all human being welcome something NEW!  I don't remember a single birthday I did not welcome, a single Christmas I did not welcome, or a single New year I have not welcomed,  I love the excitement of it all, even though I may not be awake when those event arise.  I was sound asleep last night, as well as this past Christmas, as well as this past December 11th, my birthday.  But there is a text in the Bible that covers not just these days for me, or last year or the doing one, but every day of every year of my life...and yours too - Lamentations 3:

22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of theLord.
Most of my life I have been an early riser,  when I was a full time pastor, I was often at the office at 4:30 in the morning.  Time alone in the early hours is my most valuable time of the day and I guard it very closely.  Not o; us is exactly alike, but whether it is daylight or darkness, whether I am at home or in another country, I realize when I open my eyes that it is of the Lord's mercies that I have not been consumed.  
The text about says it all for me and I pray that as you and I rise each new day of this NEW YEAR that we will not only reflect upon its truth but make HIM our portion and our hope.
