Morning Moments

Today is for us in the United States, NEW YEAR'S EVE!  Many have thought pretty seriously about New Year resolutions, determinations to gain or loose weigh, borrow or spend less, make better judgments, go to church more frequently, further their education, or a thousand other things.  All well intended, but some misguided, and some to be forgotten within a few days.

I knew a guy who would resolve every New Year to read his Bible through, but he never got very far.  Each year he made the same resolution, and each year the resolution was soon broken.  Sometimes we merely add frustration to our lives by anticipating what we never accomplish.

If I may, could I make one simple and clear suggestion as a resolution for us all through the words of an old hymn?

I am resolved no longer to linger,
Charmed by the worldu0092s delight,
Things that are higher, things that are nobler,
These have allured my sight.

I will hasten to Him, hasten so glad and free;
Jesus,reatest, highest, I will come to Thee.
I will hasten, hasten to Him, hasten so glad and free;
Jesus, Jesus, greatest, highest, I will come to Thee.

I am resolved to go to the Savior,
Leaving my sin and strife;
He is the true One, He is the just One,
He hath the words of life.

I am resolved to follow the Savior,
Faithful and true each day;
Heed what He sayeth, do what He willeth,
He is the living Way.

I am resolved, and who will go with me?
Come, friends, without delay,
Taught by the Bible, led by the Spirit,
We'll walk the heavenly way.

I will hasten to Him, hasten so glad and free;
Jesus, greatest, highest, I will come to Thee.
I will hasten, hasten to Him, hasten so glad and free;
Jesus, Jesus, greatest, highest, I will come to Thee

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
