Morning Moments

Evangelical Christianity holds to the belief that God created REAL human beings in Adam and Eve, and that He did it just the way the Bible says He did it - Adam, out of the dust of the earth, and Eve from the rib of Adam.  Whatever so-called science may otherwise teach, we reject.  So, let's think about that for a moment.  He did not create Adam as a baby that had to grow up being nurtured by the animals, and He did not make Eve from Adam as a baby for Adam to nurture until she could grow up and they could fall in love and procreate.  We would think that to be ludicrous!  We believe God created them adult human beings capable of reproduction.

Then, pray tell, why do so many evangelicals have such a hard time understanding that God believing that God could not create the earth mature?  Why do some think that just because so-called science says the earth is billions of years old, that it is indeed as they say?  It could be!  BUT it does not have to be!!!

God, seeing the needs to come for the human life He created, the needs for the minerals and metals, etc, could certainly have created an "adult" earth, just as He created an adult couple.  What is the problem with that?  None!  It is just that we think we have to reconcile theology with all sorts of other "ologies" and we DO NOT!

It may appear to us and "science" for something to take a billion years to "evolve", as well it may, if left to itself, BUT GOD who created adult humans has no problem whatsoever with creating mature "heavens and earth".

Let's face it, the problem with most of us is that if we cannot understand HOW something is done, we become skeptical either with WHAT is done, the WAY it is done, or with WHO has done it.  There are some things, however, that we will not understand completely the HOW for NOW, or explain the WHO by YOU, or the WHY by I!  In other words, we are finite and GOD IS INFINITE!  He just refuses to fit our thinking because, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are God's ways ABOVE our ways, and HIS thoughts ABOVE our thoughts."

I have no trouble with the HOW when I know personally and intimately the WHO!  GOD DID IT!  THAT'S ENOUGH FOR ME!
