Morning Moments

Thou Shalt Not Steal
Exodus 20:15

To Steal From God - Mal 3:8

Is To Deprive Yourself -
God wants the best for all of us. He has challenged us to give that it might be given unto us "pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing." To "hold out" on Him to deprive yourself of all that He wants to give you. If you can be trusted with little, He will give more.
Is To Deny Others -
The verse in Ephesians tells us that we are to work hard so that we may have to share with others less fortunate than we. A vital part of giving is sharing with others. James says that if you see your brother in need, and you can help him but you don't, you are actually are a hypocrite (Ja 3:14+).

The Bible likens the devil to a thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy. That is precisely the result of theft, for it kills responsibility and relationships and destroys incentive and initiative. Remember Zacchaeus (19:2+), who when he got right with the Lord expressed a commitment to give back four times what he had taken.

Have you stolen from yourself, from someone else, from God, Himself - then get in right and make restitution. Get out from under the burden of it, and get back to the place of blessing. Remember, it is God who has said, "Thou Shalt Not Steal."

BLESSINGS!
