Morning Moments

Luke 1:37-38 (KJV)
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

The Meekness “be it done”
Are we that willing for God to do what He wants to do in and with us? We may not understand, but we are nevertheless willing and submissive. We are so afraid somebody else is going to get the best of us, take advantage of us, and we fail to see the hand of God for looking at the face of man.

This was a teenage girl! What amazing maturity we find in her. No wonder God said she was "highly favored". Did she realize there would be those who might call her a tramp? Did she know that others would call the boy a bastard? Don't you DARE minimize the trouble she could have faced, but she was willing face God and that was the most important thing.

Humans can be so cruel, so hurtful, so hateful, but God cared and chose her to be the means for bringing His dear Son into this world. He would not come as a man, but as a helpless baby who would cry, soil his diaper, spit up, and all the rest of the normal things babies do.

Oh dear God how we fail to see how marvelous all of this really is. Mary would go through the labor every other woman goes through, but without the sedatives, without the doctors, and with only a husband and an unsterilized environment - a stable.

Yet in all this, she had the assurance from the angel that all would be well, and she willingly submitted and her fear subsided and there was calm and confidence.

Just wait until we hear her praise in the Magnificat!

Blessed art thou among women, Mary.

Enough said!

BLESSINGS!
