Morning Moments

Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Ever wish you could fly? As a boy I dreamed often that I could fly and I would soar above the neighborhood, over the trees and houses and the farm land. I never lost the sense of awe at how the farm land was so contoured with patches of sand and dark dirt. Those sights remain so vivid in my mind.

Sometimes life let’s one view the majesty of God in the heavens and sometimes He allows us to view the design of His earth – majestic mountains, rolling hills, level plains, winding rivers, small streams, large rivers, and vast oceans. It is all His! He owns the cattle on a thousand hills and the hills too.

I lift up mine eyes unto the hills, knowing that He who made the hills is my strength. I am bound together with Him in love and little by little, His strength is made perfect in my weakness. When I do not see the need for rest, He brings me to the point of need and meets that need in Himself.

Rabbi Saadias says, Every tenth year the eagle flies near the sun; and when not able any longer to bear the burning heat, she falls down into the sea, and soon loses her feathers, and thus renews her vigor. This she does every tenth year till the hundredth, when, after she has ascended near the sun, and fallen into the sea, she rises no more. How much proof do such stories require! Whether the notion of the eagle's renewing his youth is in any degree well founded or not, I need not inquire; it is enough for a poet, whether profane or sacred, to have the authority of popular opinion to support an image introduced for illustration or ornament.—LA Commentary and Critical Notes.

The promise of the Word of God for the saint of God is that we will “grow fat in old age and continue to bear fruit for HIM.

Wait upon the Lord!

Blessings!
