Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
They who are bound together with the Lord, hopefully expecting, shall pass through with increasing vigor, and shall ascend on wings as eagles; they shall run and not be exhausted; they shall walk (move along) and not become wearisome in flight.
In English the Olympic motto reads: “Swifter, higher, stronger.” That is precisely what our text is saying. But it is only a reality for those who are “bound together” with Jesus. Whatever we might be called upon to face, we can face without fear, and in faith. Whatever comes, come to pass. It is in the “passing” that we patiently await the renewal.
After major surgery, I was so weak that I could not rise without help. Soon, I could pull myself up. My legs would tremble, but each day I gained strength. After three weeks, I can walk without falling and I shall soon be able to run without tiring. Regardless of what anyone might tell you, healing is a process that begins with a crisis.
The Great Physician not only operates ON us, but also operates IN us. Sometimes healing requires medication; sometimes healing requires a change of scenery; sometimes healing requires a change of diet; but healing ALWAYS requires time.
So, let us wait patiently expecting the Chief Surgeon the complete His work of healing so that we might once again, “run and not be exhausted; walk and not become weary and discouraged about our recovery. Time and Truth together ALWAYS triumph.
BLESSINGS!
