Allow me to explain the text within the text -
1 Timothy 2:15 - Notwithstanding she EVE shall be saved in [through] childbearing [seed of the woman Gen 3:15], if [by] they [Adam and Eve]continue [abiding] in faith [faithfulness with comes from faith] and charity [the godly kind of love] and holiness [consecration with sobriety [soundness of mind].
WOW! What on earth does that mean? Well, let me get a cup of coffee and we will talk about it:)
To start with, it cannot mean that childbearing in general saves a woman or a man. Neither can it mean that this "salvation" or "saving" can come FROM "goodwill, charity, holiness, or soundness of mind" for those things come as a result of salvation and to before it.
If Eve had never been deceived and Adam had never followed with disobedience, salvation from deception and womination would not have been necessary. God's original design was for "domion" over creation, not companion by a man AND delight, not deception by a woman. It was for the completion of each other, not competition with each other. Without the fall there would be bonding and blending instead of all the beating(emotional, intellectual, physical) and bruising (verbal), conflict and controversy (social and domestic). We would not now be using words like "B" and "Chauvinist".
If woman is more vulnerable to deception and domination, the man must be more prone to deceiv and dominate. Therein lies the problem between the sexes, and the reason we need salvation.
So to understand our text we must see that it is THROUGH the seed of the woman - which only refers to JESUS, whose foot Satan bruised, but who bruised Satan's head - we can know salvation from sin, self, and Satan, which enables us to abide in a faith that loves and that sets us apart for "mental soundness, moderation, good sense, and self control." That is sobriety and it is that quality of life that we are all called to live in Christ.
BLESSINGS!
