Morning Moments

In conclusion of 1 Timothy chapter two, I would like for us to look at Titus 2:4-5 -

"That they [older women] may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children. To be discreet, chast, keepers at home, good, obedient to their OWN husbands, that the WORD OF GOD BE NOT BLASPHEMED. (Caps and bold are mine).

This is what I am calling a woman's duty. It is addressed to older women about responsibility toward younger women in the local church. Literally the verse says that older women are to train the younger in self control, to love their husbands and children, and to be sound in mind [clear thinking], holy in life, taking care of the home, expressing goodness as a quality of life through their submission [a hated word today in all areas of life] to their own husbands [not someone elses], SO THAT - no one may speak evil of the Word of God which requires these things.

Before we go any further, let me make it clear that NO ONE is required to sumit to ANYONE else who reguires them to VIOLATE another principle of the Word of God. GOT THAT?

Consider the objective of the behavior. It is that others might have respect for the truth of God's Word. In other words, that those whose marriages don't work might see that ours who profess our faith in Christ DO work. If your marriage is not working, someone, and maybe both are blaspheming the Word of God! Now, GOT THAT?

We Chrsitans have in many cases lived like hell at home and expect our testimony about Jesus to be accepted by others - it just ain't happening my friends. There are too many failed Christian marriages, too many broken homes, too many divorces, too many remarriages, too affairs, and too many hurting children BECAUSE we will not humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God and respect Him, our spouses, and our children. There is TOO little forgiveness, TOO much bitterness, TOO much blaiming the other, TOO little respect, and TOO little true obedience to the Word of God, like it or not. LET'S STOP THE MADNESS NOW! "Love covers a MULTITUDE of sins (yours and your spouses).
