Morning Moments

Luk 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

This week we have examined the scene with the shepherds in the field, After having seen the Tending, the Trembling, and the Trust, let's now consider the TRUTH as the verses above state it.

A. There is the truth about the Place - the city of David. Think of all the places in the world Christ could have been born. Wouldn't you think that such a birth should take place in Jerusalem at least? After all, He is the Prince of Peace and Jerusalem means the city of peace, but anywhere else would not have fulfilled the Scripture and that is what God was doing here - Micah 5:1. Bethlehem means "house lf bread". Now which is essential for life, peace or bread? One may have peace and starve without bread, and this ONE is the BREAD of LIFE.

B. There is the truth about the Person - a child is born. Why a child? If the Lord had appeared in human form in the past by Christophonies, why not this time? Again to fulfill the Scripture of a virgin born human being. But also that He might learn as a human things He never knew experiencially as God. Think about it! we all had parents who went through the anticipation and sometimes anxiety of our birth so that we might live as human beings, but the uniqueness of this birth was the SEED would not come from a man but from God Himself - an absolute impossibility - unless you know my God, with whom all things are possible:)

C. There is the truth about the Position of this Person - SAVIOR, Anointed, Master - Jesus Christ the Lord! He did not become Lord, HE IS LORD! Always has been and always will be. He is the Blessed and ONLY Potentate! He was conceived miraculously, born and lived as other human beings, with temptation and trials, BUT without sin. That is why HE and HE ALONE could be the supreme sacrifice for our sins.
The sacrifice HAD to be sinless, perfect to be accepted.

D. There is the truth about the PROOF - this shall be a sign. Look at what hospitals do to bring comfort to a baby at birth, but for THIS ONE there was only a simple stall. No plush pillows and no fluffy blankets, just a bed of hay in a animal trough. Now honestly, I don't know just how much animals understand some things, BUT I can promise you THIS was one all God's creation, EXCEPT humans understood. GET IT? Don't argue this - just take it by faith. Sometimes the least intelligent among us understands what the rest of us are too "learned" to understand. That's a God thing and a good thing:)

PRAYER: Thank you Father that You have not made known to the wise of this world the YOUR wisdom! You have given it to babes. Help us to understand that no one can understand without simple child like FAITH which you are willing to give to those who are willing to receive.
