Morning Moments

Luk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

In the context of these verses we have seen the THE TENDING of the shepherds, THE TERROR or TREMBLING of the shepherds, so today let's look at THE TRUSTWORTHINESS of the shepherds.

This may seem a little strange to some but God will only give you what He can trust you with. It is why some believers remain spiritual "babies" most of their lives. Some of us "Just can't handle the TRUTH." Many Christians only know enough Scripture to be dangerous with it. Do you know anyone who "judges" nothing, but "justifies" everything? Paul says "he that is spiritual judges (not condemns, but evaluates and discerns) everything, but he is judged (condemned) of no man.

I ask myself, "How much TRUTH does God trust me with?" How much TIME does God trust me with? How much TREASURE does God trust me with? There is a time that God will share something with you and tell you to KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT about it! It is why the Scripture says STUDY to be QUIET! We must all learn to LISTEN with a HEARING HEART.

Being trustworty, God said to the shepherds 1) Chill - "Fear not", 2) Cheer Up - "Good tidings to all", 3) a CITY (of David - Bethlehem), 4) a CHILD - a savior, Christ the Lord", and 5) a CONFIRMATION - "you shall find."

POINT: 1. We never learn if we never listen. 2. We never discover if we are not devoted. 3) We never grow if we are not willing to go. 4. We never see what we are not willing to seach for. 5. We never find if we alway fear.

PRAYER: "Open thou mine eyes that I may behold wonderous things out of the law."
