Morning Moments

Wanna sing in the choir? The psalmist wrote these words in Psa 96, "Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth."

As a young boy I wrote songs (not hymns or spiritual songs). It was a way of giving expression to my inner feelings that I so often could not express otherwise. During my adult life, especially as a believer, it turned to poems and prose. Don't misunderstand me, I am not published nor accomplished. I don't have to be. But it is the channel through which my heavenly Father gave me relief and release in times when I could not have "a running fit" nor "a good cry," if you know what I mean.

I am convinced that the mere effort of expressing our inner feelings by writing is critical to good mental health. You may keep a journal, write poems, songs, or have some other creative way of getting those deep and sometime dark feelings out. IT IS A MUST FOR EVERYONE. Otherwise we harden on the inside, which is why some of us are past feeling anything.

To be sure, everyone cannot be published, but who cares; it is not for that purpose. It is merely for the purpose of simple self expression. But here is my point: All of us with any kind of sensitivity at all, either enjoy the music and poems or we are engaged in the art of producing such.

The same is true not of singing. Everybody would love to do it, but some recognize they should not do it with anyone present:) Some should indeed sing only in the shower with the door closed:) I can just hear the shrill voice of someone who is tone deaf singing in the shower now:)

BUT ONE DAY! ONE DAY, my precious friend, the earth and all therein will vocally express praise to our God in song...a new song! Who will write it? God Himself and He will etch to words on our hearts and He will enable every note of this amazing song to be absolutely perfect in pitch; nobody will be singing off key. THIS is the song of the redeemed and it will indeed be the most moving musical experience we shall ever have.

Hey, wanna join the choir? No auditions! Nor worry about being able to carry a tune! No chance of embarrassing yourself. It will be perfect. That is the promise of God. Now, wanna join the choir? TRUST JESUS!

PRAYER: Oh my precious Father, what a moment and melody that will be when the masses of the earth make music to you as an expression of our praise for your worthiness. To YOU be the glory and honor and praise forever and ever. Amen!
