Morning Moments

"...after we have suffered awhile..."  Suffering?  For Americans?  NOTA; no way; not a chance; negatory!  Hmmm.  But what about the money I lost in the stock market?  What about the loss of my job?  What about my spouse leaving me?  What about caring for my aged parents?  What about my depression, and on, and on, and on.  GET REAL!

There are Christians all over the world that are being murdered simply because they are Christians and we belly ache because of everyday responsibilities and insignificant loses.  A recent earthquake in China killed 90,000 people, utterly destroyed the homes of thousands, and simply swept away everything they possessed.  But a handful of true believers, representing the love of God pitched in to help and were granted unlimited access and aid by a communist government.  In the course of this help - under the banner of God's love, an important Chinese communist leader trusted Christ.

The Buddhists fled; the Christians stayed.  With little or no money, GOD provided food and shelter for thousands.  It was not the governments aid. Christian's love made the difference.  There was no whining and criticism because the government did not move fast enough.  Christians did it!  Christians loved!  Christians worked and prayed and witnessed the might hand of our Awesome God!

PRAYER:  Lord, help us to understand that suffering is a normal part of the Christian life and it is the only way we can share in the afflictions of Christ.  Help us to Praise and not pout.  Help us to trust YOU in and for all things.
