Morning Moments

Years ago I heard a Christian psychologist who owned an ice cream company say, "If I walked into one of my businesses and found the manager mopping the floor, I would fire him on the spot."  I thought that to be a little harsh until I thought about it for awhile.  It was not that the manager was too good to do it, nor was it that the manager could not or would not do it if necessary, but that the manager should not do it because someone else was hired to do it.  Think about it before you react critically:)  If the manger is going to do what the "managed" are hired to do, there is no need for the hired.  DON'T miss this point!  This is a life principle that we seemed to have discarded:  PLAY YOUR POSITION and encourage others to play theirs.  Because they do not do it "your way" doesn't mean it is not a good way or a better way.  GOD's way is for each of us to "function under the unction" and to maintain harmony in diversity.  Not one of us is capable of doing all the work.  We need each other, even with personality differences and peculiar dispositions, so as Nike says, "Just do it!", but do it together with singular purpose and spiritual perception.

PRAYER:  Lord, help me to understand that just as the apostles were different in personality, gifts, and temperament,  yet one in purpose, so are we.  May your love motivate us and your purpose keep us in unity.
