Morning Moments

Members of the body of Christ will be meeting today in many places around the world.  In some of those places, believers will meet in air conditioned, padded pew, beautiful buildings to listen to a 20-30 minute sermon that has been skillfully prepared by a relatively well educated man.  Then they will go out to eat at a good restaurant to enjoy a nice meal.

But thousands of miles away, a small crowd will gather sometime today more hungry for the Word of God than the others for the delicious meals they will eat.  Some have walked for miles and after a few hours together in worship and study, they will walk back home to a little hut with a grass roof and a dirt floor.  They love the same Lord Jesus, and are a part of the same BODY, but have so little:  no TV, no recliner, no fine meal, and no opportunity for anything better.  They love Jesus with all their hearts, but are not afforded all the creature comfort others enjoy.

These are the believers I want to teach.  These are the pastors I want to help train.  These are the men and women of God I do not go to make "Western Christians", but to love and lead and learn from too.  I need them just as they need me, and we all need Jesus!  We need Him to show us that we are one in Him; that we are a part of the same body over which He is the Head; that His grace is sufficient for us all.  Please pray that I will be faithful in doing what my heart desires.

PRAYER:  Father, You care about the least, as you care for the rest.  Please open doors for me to learn and growth and teach and train those who do not have the resources we do, but who have a burning love for you.
