Morning Moments

As I reflect upon Christmas, I think about all the birthdays we celebrate nationally and publicly in the course of a year.  For several of them we even get a day off, but I do not hear of anyone complaining about that.  Another thing to think about is that there is only ONE of all those birthdays celebrated that effects everybody in the whole world the same.

Many great men and women in practically every nation have either served and/sacrificed their lives for a great cause or for the sake of their country and as a result, the date of their birth, because they were considered a gift to their society or nation, or because they made some great contribution to the world, have been honored by the remembrance of their lives on the date of their birth.

We in the United States have the Martin Luther King Day as a National Holiday because of his accomplishment in furthering the cause of Civil Rights.  In many of our towns and cities there are parades, speeches, and general celebration in honor of this man.  Many such individuals could be named for any country anywhere in the world.

But CHRISTMAS is the celebration of the BIRTH of the ONLY man in the history of the world against whom not one single accusation can ever be rightfully made, and He stands ALONE as the ONLY human being who has ever made the claim to deity with the evidence to substantiate the claim, and NO OTHER HUMAN BEING has ever so drastically and dramatically changed the lives of so many for the betterment of society.

I recognize that many who say they belong to Him and are His followers don't and aren't, but those who have honestly and openly surrendered to Him have made an impact for good in every single society, even though many prefer darkness to light, He came as, still is, and will always be The Light of the World and those who truly follow Him walk in the light and not in darkness.

So, there is cause to celebrate His birth and life, even if you have not allowed Him to change your heart and life.  He can and He will, be even if you will not allow Him to do that, can't you celebrate the fact that He change mine and millions of others like me down through the corridors of time, and by so doing spared this world of a bit more terror or evil or indifference or whatever might be keeping you from Him?

Think about it!
