Morning Moments

Chasing Rainbows!

(Col 2:9) For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ, (10) and you have been filled by Him, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

This is one of the most astounding verses in the Bible to me!  It should sake the Christian to the very foundation.  Look closely at this verse again -

He was full of God and you are full of Him!!!!! WOW!  Can anyone please tell me what more we need and what more there is?  This text says it ALL!

So many Christians spend their lives chasing rainbows; always running to and fro like a traversing dromedary seeking something more when in TRUTH we have all we need, for we have been give "all things that pertain to life and godliness IN Him..."

We have the "mind of Christ", and are "more than conquerors", and "sin no more has dominion over us", and "we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us", and "...God supplies all our need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus", and on and on...

What on earth is wrong with us?  Why is there not the thrill of love, the rejoicing of hope, the peace that passes all understanding, and all the other manifestations of the presence of God in believers?

We get excited about grandkids, ballgames, and anything and everything but JESUS!!!  What if we all went to our assemblies together with the fire of God in our bosoms!  What if we did not go just because it was time to go, but because we could not wait to get there and see what God was going to do THIS TIME?

What if we got as excited about God as we do about who won some stupid ball game?  What if we got as excited about God as we do about a thousand other things?  Doesn't it really show where our hearts are?

The hymn writers writes, "NOTHING THRILLS MY SOUL LIKE JESUS!"  Is that true for us? I dare say it is NOT for most who say they are Christians!

There is only one conclusion to which I can come:  Either we are full of ourselves or full of God, and whatever we are full of is evident by the manner in which we live.

Think about it!  What does your life indicate you are full of?

BLESSINGS!
