WOW!
[Psa 86:15] But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
Think of it this way: You God, the strong One who withholds from us what we deserve and gives us what we do not deserve and patiently looks upon us with steadfast love are always reliable.
What an amazing exclamation of confidence in the character of God, which is precisely what each of us needs. It can only be gained through an intimate knowledge of Him and not by a casual acquaintance.
I am sure God grows weary of our shallow decisions and lack of true devotion as displayed in our text. God is the same now as He was then; the same for me as He was for the psalmist; the same for you He is for me; the same for us is was for the saints of old, for He never changes; He is immutable.
Sometimes I feel that I hold on to that which I should let go and at other times I feel that I let go of that onto which I should hold. But I KNOW this: He is holding on to me, and not just holding on as if I were hanging over a cliff. I am on a ROCK! I am in His arms! He has me right where He wants me and wants me right where He has me, and that is good enough for me.
What is the need for anxiety or curiosity? What is the need for worry or hurry? His face is toward me and it is a face of pleasure and love. Dear friend, we are accepted “in the Beloved” and have been (not will be) blessed with every spiritual blessing in Him.
Notice the words of the text again: “FULL OF COMPASSION”. “…His compassions they FAIL NOT; they are new every morning” (Lam 3:22). Did you get that? They fail not! They fail not! They fail not! He abides faithful, compassionate, loving and reliable.
BLESSINGS!
