[Col 2:12HCSB] Having been buried with Him in baptism, you were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

How can a dead man have faith? He can’t! Remember what the Scripture says about Abraham in regards to the planned death of his son, Isaac? It says Abraham believed God would raise him from the dead before he would kill him. That is the key to this whole secret of the resurrected life in Christ Jesus.

Look at the text! It says we are buried with Him in baptism. The word is clearly immersion and has nothing to do with water in context. It is the placing on one thing into another. So when we were placed (baptized, immersed) into Christ, as He was placed (baptized, immersed) into us through faith in the working of God, who also raised Him from the dead, He also raised us IN Christ. The possession of faith comes from God as the presence enters us and personally identifies us with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection, and that is the operation or working of God.

What God does for us positionally in Christ He does once and for all, and the Holy Spirit begins the work of making what has happened positionally a reality practically. That is why Paul, who knew Christ said to the Philippians, “[3:10HCSB] ⌊My goal⌋ is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, [11] assuming that I will somehow reach the resurrection from among the dead.

It is all the “operation” or working of God by faith, which again is why Paul says to the Philippians, [1:6] Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
He put the faith of the Son of God in you for you to exercise it as He works in you for you to work out what He works in. Therefore, [2:12] My dear friends, you have always obeyed, not only when I was with you but even more now that I'm absent. In the same way continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

BLESSINGS!
