Luke 21:26-28
Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
The context of these verses has nothing to do with the Church, the body of Christ, but with the nation Israel, Jerusalem, Judea, and the Period of Great Tribulation. To teach otherwise is to completely disregard clear principles of hermeneutics. BUT the period known as the "Times of Jacob's Troubles", the Great Tribulation, or the "Seventieth week of Daniel" are indicators of the conditions of the world AFTER the "snatching" away, or "harpadzo" or "rapture of the Church.
That being the case, Paul said, regarding the coming of Christ FOR the Church and the events of that period that "the times and the seasons you know well", even though we DO NOT know "the day nor the hour of the coming of the Son of Man" (reference to the Second Coming to the earth, not the rapture of the Church).
The point is this: ISRAEL is God's timepiece, not the Church, but as Enoch was raptured before the flood, so will the Church be raptured prior to the period known as the Tribulation. That being the case, we had better get ready, for it her (Israel's) redemption draws near, the rapture is even close. The Church is the body of Christ and He is not a masochist. The Church is the bride of Christ and He loves and cherishes her, He does not put her through torment. The Church is the building of Christ, He does not destroy her. So get over this crazy teaching about the Church going through THE GREAT TRIBULATION - THAT is for Israel, to bring her to repentance and faith.
It in no way means that we as individual believers do not suffer or fact tribulation - we suffer to purge, prune, and purify us, but we will NOT go through the GREAT TRIBULATION, which as I say is the "TIME OF JACOB'S TROUBLES.
Dear reader if you are a believer, know this: "Seeing that we look for such times (GREAT TRIBULATION of ISRAEL and the preparation thereof), let us "cleanse ourselves of all the filthiness of the flesh and spirit, and perfect holiness in reverence for God.”
Be encouraged! Be faithful! Be clean! "For in a day such as you know not, your Lord cometh."
BLESSINGS!
