"I want to run to you. I want to run to you. I want you to hold me in your arms and keep me from all harm. I want to run to you." Those are the words of a song by Whitney Houston.
The Psalmist said it this way: "If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your dwelling." NLT
No one and nobody can offer this promise and fulfill it as the Lord can, but it is what the world cries for but will not freely accept. When the night is dark, and the day is dismal and dangerous; when the sun has hidden its face and the moon has eclipsed; when the enemy lurks, the economy fails, the environment poisons, and energy is gone, to whom will man go?
The Psalmist knew the agony of soul, knowing that his heart was heavy and his head was spinning. The enemy pursued, but the Lord alone could and would protect. In a world that denies Him, doubts Him, disregards Him, and that is spinning out of control there is no hope and no help apart from HIM.
May He help us not to doubt and despair, not to be discouraged nor depressed, but to simply trust HIM with all our hearts and not lean to our own understanding. He will protect us and provide for us. Hope thou in God.
May we indeed "run to Him!"
BLESSINGS!
