Phil 1:20-21
According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as alwas, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life of by death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
These two verses are heavy on my heart this morning. Morning Moments is an opportunity to share with others what God shares with me. Sometimes it is convicting, sometimes comforting, but always from the Word of God.
In many seminars I have ask those who could say, "I am crucified with Christ to stand". I have often had no takers, but in truth, if you are IN Christ and Christ IN you, the statement is true.
If indeed it is God working in you to will and to do, and if indeed it is true faith deposited by God in your soul, then you MUST let the Bible be true in your life. God says, "They that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its affections and lusts." Again it says, "...You life is hid with Christ in God and Christ in your life."
God did not glibly have these words penned for us - IT IS TRUE OF US WHO ARE IN HIM!
But because something is true doesn't make it believable, and THAT is the issue many Christians have. Faith reckons what God has said to be true, not merely in principle, but also in practice. If I practice being foolish, then I am foolish, but if I practice being wise with the wisdom of God then I become wiser.
Paul said, "according to" which means comensurate with, or measured by, in proportion to, so as is my expectation and hope, so is my practice or state. I don't have to feel crucified, I AM - it is a done deal once and for all. BUT I must reckon it, account it, to be so and when I do, it becomes so and my state becomes consistent with my standing in Christ and my practive becomes consistent with my position in Christ.
To live IS Christ for Christ in me is the hope of glory.
BLESSINGS!
