Psalm 139:1-4 (KJV)
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. [2] Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. [3] Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. [4] For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.
How well do others know us? How well do we know ourselves? It is so easy to think you know someone very well and then learn you don’t know them at all. There is One however, who knows all about us. He knows what and who we are, where we have been and are now, why we do and say what we do. HE KNOWS!
The Psalmist recognized the omniscience of our God and clearly understood that He knows all about us. From the womb to the tomb, from cradle to grave AND beyond, He always has and always will know ALL about us. That is one reason we are told that if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart. Can you really imagine someone knowing every thought, word, and deed, and loving you unconditionally anyway? THAT is our GOD!
The truth is that most of us talk about unconditional love but show little of it. If someone says or does something that we do not approve of, we often back away from that person rather than correcting when necessary and continuing to love with the love of God shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. There are times in all our lives that we break God’s heart, but there is wideness in His mercy”, and “grace that is greater than all our sins”.
Paul said, “O wretched man that I am who shall deliver me from this body of death?” Then He continues, “Thank God IT HAS BEEN DONE…” WOW! “He has forgiven ALL our sins and iniquities.” Don’t you wish you and I WOULD do that? It is not a matter of COULD we, but WOULD we – are we willing to do it. Let’s do it! Let’s do it NOW! Let’s do it now by FAITH!
When we develop the same love toward one another that God has for us, we will stop being so judgmental and begin being more spiritual. We will then reach out a helping hand rather than pushing someone else down. You and I are responsible for our own decision to “let the love flow” through us to those who are hurting so badly. What do you say we give it a try today?
BLESSINGS!
