It's Just None Of Your Businss
John 21:20-23 (KJV)
20 Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?
21 Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.
23 Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?
The supper was finished, so Jesus and Peter go for a walk along the beach. Jesus tells Peter that he is young and energetic and fiery, but the time would come when he would have to carried along to hid death.
Peter then looked by and saw John, then asked Jesus what John would do. Jesus told him in essence that was none of his business, but "If I will that John tarry till I come that is not your business".
How we tend to worry about what God is going to do with someone else, when the real issue is what is he gonna do with me. And when one matures to the point of seeing that it really doesn't matter, he/she has gained some ground.
Think about this! When I was younger I used the Word of God as a sword to cur and carve and to chisel my own life as well as others. Far to much of my black and white thinking left room for little gray. I thank God for using me when my spiritual vision was more restricted.
But in the later days I see more color about life and people, which brings our more compassion and comfort. Peter know longer worried about John when Jesus spoke to him. He and John were close and of course each would natuarlly care about each other, but it is not your business how things will end up for me, nor my business how they will end up with you.
We must simply love one another to the end and want the best for the other as long as he/she lives.
BLESSINGS!
