Morning Moments

Important Questions
Colossians 2:6-10

Two of the most serious problems facing the Church today are: 1) members who have never been brought to newness of life in Jesus,, and, 2) those who have but are not exemplifying the reality of the new life they have received. With that in mind, let's allow God to probe our hearts as we ask and answer five Important Questions -

Over the next few days we shall follow this outline in our meditations.

I. How Did I Come To Know Christ?
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

The Crisis of Faith - "Receive"
The Consequence of Faith - "Walk"

II. How Am I To Live As A Christian?
7 Rooted (solid) and built up (steady) in him, and stablished (stable) in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Grounded - Action is Past - "Rooted...stablished"
Growing - Action is Progressive - being "built up"
Grateful - Attitude in Praiseworthy - overflowing with thanksgiving

What Is My Greatest Danger?
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

The Thief - "spoil" capture
The Trap - "philosophy...vain deceit" - human wisdom & words
The Theory - "tradition...rudiments" human and hellish

What Is My Greatest Source?
9 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

The Inspired Word - "in Him" - We know from Scripture
The Incarnate Word - "bodily" - We know from the Spirit

What Is My Greatest Assurance?
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

His Adequacy - "complete in Him" - full
His Authority - "head of all" - faithful

If you struggle to answer these Important Questions, settle it today.

BLESSINGS!
