Morning Moments

THE FRAME
Col. 1:8-12
Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. [9] For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; [10] That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; [11] Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; [12] Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Understanding the will of God is critical for the next phase of erecting this amazing structure called the Christian Life. In our text, Paul tells us to walk worthy unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.”

The word “worthy” conveys the idea of a scale which is BALANCED on both sided. It is this balanced life that enables us to be fruitful and fulfilled. Balance is the key as the magnificent construction continues. This is the FRAMYING IN of the building. Remember Jesus asked, “Which of you intending to build a building does not first sit down and count the cost?”

In recent years we have so cheapened the gospel as to believe one can go through a little booklet with a sales pitch, have someone agree that they do not wish to go to hell, but to heaven, have them repeat a simple prayer, then tell them they are saved. HOW UTTERLY RIDICULOUS!

In the first place Jesus demand the LIFE – “Whosoever would save his LIFE will lose it; but whosoever LOSES HIS LIFE for my sake and the gospel’s will find it. I do not care what you have heard, the Gospel demands a life for a life, and that has not been preached by far too many who only wish to count decisions. JESUS COUNT DISCIPLES – not decisions.

Where there is no FRUIT, there is no ROOT, and the seed has fallen stony, starved, or scorched ground, not good ground. ONLY SEE FALLEN ON GOOD GROUND PRODUCES FRUIT – some 30, some 60, and some 100 fold. That is the reason for so many BARREN so called Christians who supposedly made decisions without becoming disciples.

Jesus said, “The tree is known by its FRUIT”. END OF STORY!
