Morning Moments

John Gilmour, a godly Brit, loved to witness for Jesus. He carried gospel tracts and books to give to people as he had opportunity. On day he came across and old Irishman selling kettles, lids, and saucepans. "Good morning, sir," Gilmour said, "And how is your business today?" "Oh," replied the Irishman, "I cannot complain." Gilmour continued, "What a grand thing it is to be saved." To which the Irishman responded, "I know something better than that, sir." Better than being save? I would surely like to know what it is then." With a warm smile, the man said, "It is the companionship of the One who saved me, sir."

It has been interesting to me through the years that when Christians are given opportunity to give a testimony, many of us tell of our conversion experience, as if that is as far as salvation goes. It is sad but true that for too many of us that's all we have to tell - an experience that happened many years before.

To be sure there is nothing wrong with telling the story of our conversion, but the question is, "What about the companionship of the One who saved you?" "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed; his compassions they fail not; they are new every morning."

Today, as you journey with Jesus through your life, why not share with someone what it means to have the COMPANIONSHIP of the One who saved you?

BLESSINGS!
