Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

A Child Is Born -

What an amazing event!

How well I remember the birth of our first child - a son. My wife had been so small and in a few short months she had become so big with child. I just knew the child would be huge, but he only weighed 4'10" and looked like a skinned squirrel. In those days the hospitals were so restrictive about new babies. For the first couple of days, we could only see him from the window and for only a few minutes.

When they did allow us to hold him, it was with gown and mask and only for a few minutes a couple of times a day. Moms were kept in the hospital for about a week then. My how times have changed!

BUT THIS CHILD - came into this world which came into this world just as any other baby, had to nurses to care for him, no doctor to deliver him, not so much as a grandmother or sister to help the mom. She travelled some distance and had to settle for a stable; no comfortable room in a hotel; no soft pillows; no cushy bed. This mom had only her husband to help and a few animals watching. Yet THIS CHILD was THE child of promise and prophecy. THIS child was the hope of humanity and a horror to hell. THIS child would have all the needs of any other child without the privileges of other children. BUT THIS CHILD would change the course of human history and the personal lives and families of untold millions through the years.

THIS CHILD is JESUS CHRIST, LORD and SAVIOR!

He is the only child ever to be born who is worthy of WORSHIP!
