Morning Moments

Luke 2:13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

The Glory of God “glorifying…praising”
If these angelic beings who have never and can never know the saving grace of our Loving Lord praise and glorify Him, should not we all the more? The Scripture says we are to always praise Him that He dwells in the midst of the praise of His people.

The Heavenly Presence - "a multitude of heavenly host"

What wonderful insight we gain here as to the occupation of the Heavenly host with what God is doing. They had waited so long for this event; the cherubim, the seraphim, the spirits of righteous saints who had gone before. What God was doing was no secret to this heavenly host. There was only one great mystery - How would God do it? No angelic being ever went through the process of birth. Sure, they had witnessed many human births but never anything like this. A multitude!

The Heavenly Praise - "Glory to God in the highest"

If any group of people anywhere anytime understood the appropriateness of praise to God this group did and still does. They never tire of praising God because they know He is worthy of praise and that He dwells in the midst of praise. There is none but Him. He is the pre-imminent One; the eternal God; the loving Father; the One with no beginning and no ending; the all-powerful, all knowing, all present God to whom glory and honor and praise and power belong forever.

The Heavenly Peace - "on earth peace"

Peace on earth is the will of God, but man will have none of it. Even in today's battle over Christmas scenes is evidence of the battle that rages through the ages. For mankind to be told that faith in Jesus Christ is the only means of peace is an offense to him. Man thinks he can bring about peace by treaties, but the more it has been tried, the more it has failed. When Jesus came the first time, He said, "Think not that I came to bring peace on earth, but a sword." That sword is the Word of God which divides saint from sinner, saved from the lost, righteous from the unrighteous. BUT He will come again to establish world peace under His righteous rule. He is the blessed and only potentate, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Then peace will come to earth.

The Heavenly Prayer - "good will toward men"

Literally the text reads toward men of good will. There is a choice for each of us either to serve God in peace and good will or to serve Satan, self, and sin. God wants men with good will to carry the message of the Incarnation, Crucifixion, and Resurrection to every creature. That is the prayer of this multitude. It is the cry of every child of God for our desire is to let the world know that He who was born in a manger is the Might God who will one day soon come again and establish peace on earth. PEACE BE YOURS THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON.

BLESSINGS
