Morning Moments

Following our outline from a couple of days ago regarding the background for the Incarnation, let's consider the serious problem from humanities point of view about the forerunner.

It had been prophesied that a "forerunner" would precede the coming of the Messiah. It was also said that the forerunner would come "in the spirit" of Elijah, so for this couple, it would have to be someone else.

Far too many of us look at ourselves and our own self-evaluated barrenness and think, "It couldn't be me that God will use." Make no mistake about it, "With God nothing is impossible." You may see yourself as barren and all the time be bearing children for Jesus.

The Problem “barren”

And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

Oh God, help us not to count ourselves out, for we can never count you out, and You are the one we COUNT ON.

God is not looking for people who fancy themselves able, but He uses those He chooses, and He chooses those whose availability far exceeds their ability. It is not our "condition" that is important, but our consecration. This couple faithfully loved and served God, not for what they could get from Him, but for the fact that it was their duty and they were delighted to do it. Attitude is far greater that aptitude.

Sometimes we do not do duty because it seems drudgery. Fulfilling our duty we should be delightful, even when their are difficulties and disappointments. STAY TRUE! You will be tried, but STAY TRUE and be triumphant.

BLESSINGS!
