Psalm 119:137-144

The eightfold Tsade or Tzaddi. God rules righteously and faithfully according to His word, for which the poet is accordingly zealous, although young and despised.

The Word of God which is pure and true is despised by the wicked by it comsumes the righteous.

Righteous art thou, O Lord, and upright are thy judgments.

Who understands the character of God like those who have treasured His Word in their hearts?

The song says, "Getting to know you; getting to know more about you." That is the quest of every true child of God who walks in fellowship with Him and one another. He is just and His judgments are always right. God judges righteously because HE IS RIGHTEOUS!

Ps 119:138

The record of witness has proven over and over again that never does not judge on the basis of preference, bias, nor prejudice, but solely on the basis of what is right and true and faithful. No one will ever point a finger in the face of God and say, "Your commands are grievous; too hard for us. They are always right for He is always right.

Ps 119:139

The word translate "zeal" is a passionate anger that has overcome the psalmist because of the utter failure of man to recognize, respect, and receive the Word of God.

We may preach till Jesus comes that God loves everyone, but we must also preach that He is angry with the wicked every day, and that even the plowing of the wicked is sin; for whatsoever is not of faith IS sin.

Ps 119:140

Gold that is pure is soft. To the saint of God who loves Him with all the heart, He is soft - not mushy, weak, or deficient, but soft as a man should be toward a woman.

He is tender and tough; soft and supernatural. THIS is the love of my life. THIS is the One whom our hearts long for. It's no wonder we love Him.

His Word is as a sword to those who resist Him, but it is as a salve to those who revere Him. Which are you?

Ps 119:141

This is such an amazing truth. The bigger He gets to us, the smaller we see ourselves. WOW!

This about this human writer, David - a man who slew lions, giants, and put armies to flight - a soldier, a warrior, but this man had a heart for God which made him tender.

Dear Father, it is what I long for.

Ps 119:142

There is none righteous, no not one, BUT we are made because of God's just command, the righteousness of God in CHRIST. What God decides, desires, deserves, and decrees is TRUTH, and it is everlasting (no end to it) righteousness.

Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect; it is God who has declared us righteous - in Christ. Those who are righteous, practice righteousness - right living toward God and man.

Ps 119:143

Whatever life might bring, and you can be sure it is not all delightful, YET His Word is always a delight to those who follow in fellowship with Him.

In recent years, we have been through a number of sub-standard phases in Christianty, and because of our superficial, "I got it and you don't" phoniness, the world we are to reach has come to resent us. We preach holiness and practice hatefulness. We preach love and live lust. We make vows we do not keep. We say we are different, but live like the rest of the world, consumed with what we eat, where we live, and what we wear. We worship at the shrine of materialism, all the while saying we are faithful to our Master.

It makes God SICK! Man that is born of woman is but a few days and full of trouble, and we are born of woman, so if, as a true believer you can escape it - forget it. BUT in the midst of it all, we delight in God's commands. Now that is Christian living!

Ps 119:144

We may get illumination, enlightenment, knowledge, and understanding of that FOREVER SETTLED WORD, but there is NO NEW revelation. ANYONE claiming new revelation from God is a deceiver. We can only get clearer insight into it. If ANY MAN add to it, take from it, or substitute it - he shall be judged on the basis of what he has done.

There may be new teachers of old truth, but they MUST follow the BOOK for God's blessing! AMEN!
