Psalms 119:41-49 (KJV)
41 Let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even thy salvation, according to thy word.
42 So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word.
43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments.
44 So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.
45 And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.
46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.
47 And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.
48 My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.
49 Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.
We do not wish for God to deal with us according to our deserts, but according to His lovingkindness as revealed in His Word regarding His salvation. It is according to the Word of God that we are to respond to those who defame, insult, and mistreat us. For example: The Word says, “Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect; it is God who justifies us.” In this way, we avoid becoming defensive and take the offense with the Sword of the Spirit, which IS the Word of God. THAT will stop the devil's onslaughts from family, friend, or foe.
Our confidence is in the judicial declaration of God who has declared us righteous, so it is on the basis of His judicial declaration that comes from the heart which is spoken by the mouth. It is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks, so we speak according to His Word.
As we “meditate” in the law of the Lord day and night, those governing life principles are kept and we live in freedom and without condemnation. Hence, there is therefore NOW no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus; who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Regardless of whom we may stand before, whether pauper or prince, we unashamedly witness to the purifying purpose, principles, and proof of God's presence by the path we have chosen. God said to the prophet, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper, but every tongue that rises in judgment against thee thou shall condemn; for this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is of Me.” What more do we need? What more can we have?
If you choose to live as a mealy mouth milk toast, that is entirely up to you, but God says that the righteous are as bold as a lion – that is confidence, not arrogance. It is the recognition that GOD is GOD and we are His children and His representatives. The Scripture also says that when the righteous speak, the wicked flee. If we start telling people what God says instead of letting them get by with denying and perverting the truth of God, everyone suffers. My friend, learn the Word, love the Word, and loose the Word. In so doing, you will put to flight armies and you will stop the mouths of lions.
The Psalmist says, “I love the commands of God and I lift my hands in praise for your Word, which is my hope and in which I continually meditate.”
BLESSINGS!
