Morning Moments

Let me begin my apologizing about the announcement about the Fox program. The source was The "Atlanta Journal TV Weekly" under "Special Programming". I watched and it was a rerun of Hannity.

Psalm 119:
9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

These verses represent the second letter of the Hebrew alphabet.

God says we shall find Him when we seek for Him with all our heart. That is the clear expression of this part of the psalm. Consider:

How one keeps pure – by taking heed, paying attention to, responding to God’s Word. Hearing the Word of God is essential, but heeding it is critical. It is the written word that is used of God to create in us a hunger for HIM. The hunger keeps us focused on the SUBJECT of the written word – God Himself, and we do not want to stray from what He says and the way He leads. When we are tempted to stray, the Holy Spirit uses the Word we are keeping in our hearts to expose the pending danger of getting off path.

I often think of the words of poet Robert Frost here:

The Road Not Taken

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

God’s path does indeed make all the difference in one’s life and compels us to proclaim your directives, boundaries, judicial declarations, precepts, and witnesses to your truth. “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” Jesus said His judgments are true.

Having my heart “hedged” by His Word keeps me safe, secure, and satisfied. Hence, as a cow chews her cud, so will I chew, digest, regurgitate, and chew again and again the Word of God which I will NOT forget.

I love this whole process. His is the only sure path.

BLESSINGS!
