Morning Moments

1 Tim. 3:16 (KJV)
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Keeping a secret is sometimes very difficult for some people. Especially if the secret is really good. It generates an excitement that one can hardly contain. That is how I see all of heaven when it came to Jesus coming as the Savior for our sins. Can't you just imagine the excitement. Okay, think of it this way. Suppose you were a victim of the Madoff scam and you lost everything - millions of dollars. Everything is gone and you have no more hope for the future. THEN someone somewhere does something and you receive a registered letter that you will get every dime back. Honestly, don't you think you could not wait to tell somebody?

Things were so wrong for so long. Oh I know there were always those who were people of faith. They believed God would and had saved them through their simple faith. Even those who understood that Messiah would come NEVER could have comprehended the secret - the mystery of heaven - that God, Himself would step from the portals of glory and come to this planet of grief, be mercilessly and brutally treated and killed, rise from the dead, ascend into heaven, then return in the person of the Holy Spirit to make us temples of God. HALLELUJAH! THAT is ALL a part of the mystery of godliness. Man who lost it all by sin can now gain it all and more THROUGH Jesus Christ. WOW! What a secret! What a mystery! I can't wait to tell it!!!!!!!!!!!

THE INCARNATION - "God was manifest in the flesh"
There were many theophanies and Christophanies in the Old Testament when God appeared to man in human FORM but nothing, NOTHING was ever done like this. For God to borrow the womb of a woman, a mere mortal, do a miracle by implanting His very seed in her and produce a little baby. THAT is utterly amazing! This precious little thing was as human as any baby that was ever born BUT the difference was he was not Adam's seed, but God's. Hence he had no fallen nature but did have every aspect of the human nature.

He had so much to learn as man than he never had to learn as God. He had to be fed, changed, protected, breast fed, and taught so much - how to walk, talk, go to potty - everything any other human being had to learn to do, he had to be taught to do as a child with NO fallen, sinful, Adamic nature. Incredible! It had to be that way! He who was and is God became a real human being - just like us except without sin.

There was absolutely nothing about his little body that was not just like your babies or mine. God did this because He loves you and me. Only God could have figured this out and all of heaven rejoiced to see his day. The Creator became a creature. GOD was manifest in the flesh!

That, my dear friend, is the basic truth of Christianity around which all others revolve. To deny the deity of Jesus Christ is to be none of his. One CANNOT be a Christian and deny that Jesus is the physical, material manifestation of THE omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, spiritual God. He set aside all the rights of deity to BE humanity and that is the mystery or mysteries. If that doesn't make you want to fall on your face before Him in worship, something is vitally wrong with you.
If I don't stop I will have a "running fit". This is too much for me - too high, too noble, too majestic, too miraculous, BUT that is precisely what God did for me.

We shall continue tomorrow, God willing.

THE VINDICATION - "justified in the Spirit"
THE CONFIRMATION - "seen of angels"
THE PROCLAMATION - "preached unto the Gentiles"
THE REGENERATION - "believed on in the world"
THE EXALTATION - "received up into glory"

BLESSINGS!
