Are modesty and moderation limited only to women in the early church? Of course not! Our rebellion does not nulify the truth by which we shall be judged. Public worship is to be decent and orderly; respectful and reverant. Just as God held Adam and Eve responsible for their acts, you are I, male and female are responsible of ours.

Did Eve's deception keep her from judgment? NO! Did Adam's willful choice keep him from judgment? NO! We may argue the point from now on, but it doesn't change the truth, and sometimes we "just can't handle the truth". Men, you can argue with your wife, but you will not argue with God who gave us the truth. EVERY man will give an account.

Look at it this way: You may have an employer or supervision who is your superior in position, but he/she may have less knowledge, understanding, and insight into your job. Your superior knowledge does not make you the superior functionally. It is a principle of life.

God established order and accountabilty which has nothing to do with your aptitude and everything to do with your assignment. God assigned specific functions for each of the sexes. We are most miserable when we refuse to function under the order and unction.

Those who are in authority over us are responsible to God for us, and although some may not fulfill the function designed by God, it is no excuse. Men are to be spiritual leaders, and many are not. But that does not mean they will not be accountable to God for their failure. Again, one's failure is not an excuse for another's failure.

In the light of the previous verses regarding order, Paul continues by saying,

2:13 - For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

Paul actually chose his "sermon" text from Genesis to answer valid questions regarding God's original intent. THINK ABOUT THIS! Before the fall, there was apparently no "me male, you female" deal. There was no lording over in either case. They mutually loved, mutually worked, mutually shared - everthing was mutual. Adam was incompele without Eve, just as man today is incomplete without woman. But sin clouds the whole issue and instead of mutual care, there is individual competition. That is where the "lording over" comes from. When any home or church or business works mutually to fulfill its purpose - it makes progress.

Man does not function well alone. Why not? Because men tend to be more language and logic minded, more categorical and conquer oriented. BUT a very vital part(emothions) goes lacking. Man is obviously not as sight and sound sensitive as is woman. Granted, God could have built both into man and provided a way for man to reproduce himself. I THANK GOD HE DID NOT! I needed my mama! I need my sisters! I need by wife! I need my daughters! I need women and so does every other man, even the perverted ones.
