One never knows when he might become incapacitated. I'm sorry for the few days delay but it was unavoidable - I was in the hospital and saw ever kind of "ologist" there is I think...well, with the exception of the garbalogist and the scientologist.
I'm fine though, but thanks for your prayers.
In previous days we have looked at Habakkuk 3:2 -
2 O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.
The Respect for the Word of God - "I have heard thy speech."
The Response to the Wrath of God - "was afraid"
Today let's consider The Return to the Work of God - "thy work"
God's work is like no other. Let no one convince you otherwise, it is the MOST important work there is. His work is done by the rich and the poor, the famous and the unknown, male and female, adult and child, any race, any nationality, any culture, anytime and anywhere, among the Muslims, the Hindus, the Buddhist, and also in the Church. This is the case because He cares for one as much as He does the other. He established the races, the nations, the kindred and the peoples of the world, and it is they that He loves and desires to know about Him.
God's work is twofold: Evangelism and Discipleship! Nothing more, nothing less, yet it is everything. God lives and breathes love for His creation and "in Him" we live and move and have our being. Every where people are, God is - loving and reaching out to us. It is simple work, yet supernatural work. Sometimes it is easy work, but sometimes it is hard work. It may seem menial work at times, but it is mighty and miraculous work.
God's work is in the home, in the streets, in the hospitals and nursing homes, in crack town and downtown and uptown. His work is where people are and He doesn't stop this work. Day and night, darkness and light, rain, hail, sleet or snow, God works. Now here is the clincher:
His work is done by my hands and yours, my head and yours, my feet and yours, my heart and yours. It was said prophetically of Him, "Lo in the volume of the book it is written of me, 'I have come to do thy will O God. Thou hast prepared for me a body.'"
We who follow Him, who confess our faith to be in Him, who have given our lives to Him, WE ARE NOW HIS BODY - broken and poured out into the world so that all may see and believe. He doesn't favor the intelligent, the ambitious, the able, the noble. He delights in making something from nothing whether an expensive vase or a cheap clay pot, but He is the potter and I am the clay for the purpose of placing into THIS body a TREASURE so that the glory might be HIS alone! The treasure is in earthen vessels whether fine china or paper plates - to serve and find and feed and love humanity. ALL by His grace and with His mercy.
May God help us to do HIS work through THIS body, a simple member of THE BODY prepared for Him.
Blessings!
