Read Esther
8:6 - The Agony
"For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?"
Remember the MADD ad..."Friends don't let friends drive drunk!" Well, though you and I cannot act for another we can certainly agonize for another. Jesus knew that Peter would fall and fail, but He said, "I have prayed for you that when you are converted, you will strengthen the brethren." The spirit of Haman hunts and haunts us and only wants to hurt us. But the Spirit of the living God wants us to prevail. If we are to prevail, we MUST agonize.
8:7 - The Approval
"Then the king Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, 'Behold I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews.'"
The Scripture is clear that we have been freely given all things that pertain to life and godliness in Christ. Not only have we received the gift of life and the gift of the Holy Spirit, but also the gift of being able to live life on a higher plain. As the hymn writer puts it, "I'm pressing on the upward way. New heights I'm gaining every day...." Don't rob your self of the joy of living by just living. Move to new altitudes by new attitudes.
Jesus has saved us from those who would want to destroy us, just as He did the Jews from the violent and venamous Haman. He saved a nation - He can save a soul.
Tomorrow, God willing, we shall concluded with The Guarantee, The Grace, and The Good News as seen in Esther.
Have a blessed day.
