Morning Moments

Luke 21:26 (KJV)
26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

In the later part of the Great Tribulation period, or the last 3 1/2 years of Daniel's prophecy, and just prior to the coming of the Lord Jesus back to the earth to established His kingdom, He says, "that there will be signs in the sun and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waters roaring: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken."

We can easily understand the fear that would bring, but what is the source of the spirit of fear in man?

1 Peter 5:8-9 - "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world."

Philippians 1:28 - "And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God"

Proverbs 26:13 - "The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets."

Fear is a faith killer and can lead brother to betray brother. It is none other the the Devil himself, with his legions of demons that are plauging our world with fear today, and it is high time that we, as true believers, stop worrying about being sick and dying and start realizing the importance of shaking the foundations of hell itself. The Devil is defeated. Jesus did it once and for all and it is a done deal, so get over this fear and start exercising the faith of the Son of God.

Get in the foxhole my friend, we are in the most furious fight of our lives and there are no atheists nor agnostics in the foxhole; just comrades, fellow fighters.

A young soldier who was fighting in Italy during WWII jumped into a foxhole just ahead of some bullets. He immediately tried to deepen the hold for more protection and was frantically scraping away the dirt with his hands. He unearthed something metal and brought up a silver crucifix left by a former resident of the foxhole. A moment later another leaping figure landed beside him as the shells screamed overhead. When the soldier got a chancd to look, he saw that his new companion was an army chaplain. Holding out the crucifix, the soldier gasped, "Am I glad to see you! How do you work this thing?"

We know that the solution to the problem of fear in a furious fight is FAITH. Faith that our Father and Sovereign Lord were in the foxhole waiting for us before we arrived.

My friend, we are not battling the economy, nor the enviornment, nor the enemy abroad, but we ARE in the battle that has been raging through the ages because the enemy of our souls knows his time is short and we are the winners.

PRAYERS: God help us to live like the winners we are all because of your love and grace.
