Morning Moments

Last night as I prayed about the next step in our study, the Lord reminded me of one single verse:

1 Timothy 6:15 (KJV)
15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

This brings me to the second point in my attempt to show simply and sensibly keys to understanding "things to come" or unfulfilled Bible Prophecy.

1. 1 Cor 10:32 - The distinction of Jew, Gentile, and Church.

2. 1 Timothy 6:15 - "in his times shall show..." Two main things jumped out at me as I pondered on this verse: The first was that Jesus is nowhere said to be "King of the Church." He is in truth, "King of the Jews." It is so throughout the Old Testament regarding Messiah and is true in Revelation. God established Israel as a NATION and promised her a King to reign forever who would be a son of Abraham and a son of David. The second thing that jumped out at me in those early morning hours was that the confession of the Church, comprised of every true believer in this age of grace, is that confession of Jesus as LORD.

Do not disregard this clear distinction in the study of "eschatology" or you will miss much. He is King of kings for the Jews, Lord of lords for the church, and as such will receive the crown of a king before all creation and the confession of His Lordship before the same - "in his times SHALL show...".

NEVER go to the Scripture with a closed mind with doctrinal prejudice and denominational bias or you will much. The reason every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that JESUS CHRIST is LORD is that Israel's Messiah and the our Savior are one and the same. That is why she (repentant, redeemed and restored Israel) SHALL "wail" before Him.

PRAYER: Father teach us to be honest and open with the Word of God and understand that you have hidden truth from the "wise" and given it to babes. Help us regardless of our degrees to humble ourselves before you.
