"...and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.
Did you ever imagine yourself to be somebody else? If you have ever been a kid you have. I remember once imagining that I was Superman. Had the cape and the whole deal, but when I tried to fly through the wall, I ended up with a bloody head.
I can't even imagine being like Jesus, but that is what the Word says, "We shall be like Him." The prospects of that blows me away. Think about this -
John Phillips tells the story of "Teddy", a former Price of Wales. When he was a boy, Teddy would get out into the streets and play with other kids without identifying himself as a prince. One day, dressed in tattered clothes, a young friend dared him to throw a stone and knock the hat off a policeman. The dare was more than he could stand, so he did it. Upon being nabbed and questioned by the officer, he admitted that he was the Prince of Wales. Of course, the officer didn't believe him, so he turned to the other boy and asked who he was. The young boy replied, "I''m the Bishop of Canterbury." We may wish at times to be someone we can never be, BUT be sure of this one thing: "We shall be like HIM, for we shall seen Him as He is."
Hallelujah!
PRAYER: Father, we KNOW that what you have said is always true, but we confessed to you that we don't fully comprehend it. Let's see, You came to be like us, so that we through the new birth and your coming for us, can be like our Lord Jesus. God you are just TOO MUCH! Thank You.
