Morning Moments

I only pray that what is on my heart this morning makes sense.

When Judah was taken into bondage by the Babylonians, Daniel was one of the captives. Most of us know the story of Daniel, but what we may not know is that there is no record of Daniel leaving Babylon. It is also believed that from Daniel arose a group of “wise” men who were students of the stars. It is very likely that it was from this group of devoted Jewish students came the Wise men from the East, who came in search of the child (not baby).

I point this out simply to help us understand that God alone knew all the pieces to the puzzle of time and events that brought about the incarnation. He planned it all, and executed the plan. He knew every participant, every prayer, and every piece that brought to time what had been planned in eternity. GOD sent forth HIS SON “…in the fullness of time, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that WE might receive the adoption of sons” (Galatians 4:4).

For over two thousand years the events in time have been acknowledged and accepted as FACTS, but not until now (in our lifetime) have the TIME in EVENTS been known. For example, we can now pinpoint by computer software the preciseness of the movement of not only our galaxy, but also the preciseness of galaxies far beyond our own. And there are billions. Through quantum physics and modern astronomy we have more “light” on the old truth than ever before in the history of mankind.

Here is my point: When God prophesies or predicts something, it is because He has it all planned in eternity where time does not exist. We generally think of eternity in terms of time. In fact, it is almost impossible for us to comprehend anything without time. As a result, TRUTH is sometimes obscured for us by time. We are often more concerned about “when” something happened than we are “what” happened. Time for us provides a “marker.” However, we know that the farther in space one travels, the less time exists until we reach infinity.

This whole thing of time has created debates over “when” Jesus was born, crucified, resurrected, etc.. Through the years we have accepted without question dates that have been speculative regarding events that were recorded accurately. So when the Bible speaks of the “fullness of time” it does so for OUR benefit because we live in a “time” zone.

In a day when “Christmas” is being challenged and criticized, we can with CONFIDENCE present TRUTH because all of the “sciences, so called” are on our side. Don’t worry now about the “when” just focus on the “WHO,” and the “WHO” of eternity will in time reveal the “When.” Remember the two extremes of TRUTH are tradition and trend, and both may need some adjustments.

TIME is a measure for us, but TRUTH is a measure for GOD! THE TIME FOR TRUTH IS ALWAYS NOW!

PRAYER: Father, on this “Christmas Eve” and “Christmas Day” help us to see that at the Right Moment in time, the Right Man (your Son), came in the Right Manner (born of a woman and under the law) for the Right Mission (to redeem) and THAT is the right message for time and eternity.
