"The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world" It's not a quote from the Bible, but it is true.
Now look at the text: "...and she gave it to her husband with her and he did eat." That is pretty amazing to me for a number of reasons:
1. Did he not hear her conversation with the serpent?
2. Did she say something like, "Honey close you eyes and take a bite of something delicious."
3. Did he not realize that what God had told him was true?
4. Did he see that she did not die when she ate and doubt too?
5. Did he not see an immediate change in her?
6. How much time had passed between their creation and the eating of THIS fruit?
In the first place, either the animals spoke audibly, or the serpent was playing mind games with her. If the animals spoke audibly, they must have all spoken the same language. for the languages were not confused before Babel. If on the other hand they did not speak audibly, why was she not frightened at the serpent speaking? Was she looking at this beautiful "shining one" and communicating mentally without Adam knowing what was being said? Could he could have seen what was going on?
So, we must conclude that Satan actually spoke to her through the serpent, he chose to indwell for the moment, and that she was so mesmerized by the beauty of this creature and the cunning of the devil, that she, as the New Testament affirms was DECEIVED.
For now, let's set Adam aside and observe some things we know about the woman. In the first place, women are "weaker vessel" according to the New Testament, but why? Could it be because they are more vulnerable to smooth talk. It doesn't mean they are inferior, or less intelligent because we know that they use more of the brain than men. But it does mean that they are more trusting; more open emotionally; more sensitive. Why do you think women say things like, "We never talk anymore" to their husbands, or "We can talk about anything" before marriage:) I remember an ABC special that John Stossel did on The Difference Between Men and Women:) I am always amused that we still after all this time have a question about it, but I believe it is an attempt to confuse rather than clarify in order to justify the perversion and the denial that marriage is between man and woman ONLY.
Here is what we KNOW first by fact: Eve was DECEIVED. Adam WAS NOT DECEIVED. Before you have a fit, men are deceived too, but regarding the fall Adam was not. ONE MORE THING, PLEASE REMEMBER THESE ARE MY THOUGHTS ONLY so allow me the privilege of the process of learning what may you already know:)
A man obviously can win a woman by WHAT he says, but a woman can win a man by HOW she looks. That is why you see ugly men (present company excluded, of course) with beautiful women. It may also be why women are so concerned about HOW they look. Adam probably thought, "There is no way I'm losing this woman. She is so fine and so mine. She can lead me to anywhere she wishes:) Ladies that is male mentality:) Chill a little super saint, we're having a little fun here too:)
By the way, do we use the term Con Men or Con Women? Con men of course even though women can con too. But I'm rambling so let's get to today's point.
Eve was not deceived because of a flaw in her personality or character, but because of her nature to be trusting. Women are far more trusting than men. If that were not so, many of us men would never have a wife.:)
So for TODAY, let me say that woman is as a diamond and man is like a rock. Mom use to say, women are like powder puffs, they are far more delicate and always smell better:) My male friend, here are my words today: Prize her, protect her, provide for her, for she is precious and priceless.
PRAYER: Father, forgive us men for our lack of appreciation and consideration for the "GOOD THING" we have found. We have a treasure we must cherish and all the differences between us are simply the means of your process of completing us. You refer in your world to Israel and the Church in the feminine gender, so that we might see how you love and take care of them. Help us to do the same.
