Morning Moments

The "Yield" sign on the highway is an extremely important sign, for it gives an example of liberty as opposed to legalism and license.  When one is approaching the highway where there is a yield sign, he is obviously presented with a choice.  He can dart out into the flow of traffic without any caution and risk getting hit, or he can slow down and cautiously look for an opportunity to fit into the flow.

What God has done for us in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is a "once for all" established fact.  He died for our sins (practice or fruit) and was raised so that the sin (principle or root) might no longer have dominion over us.  Therefore if we, as believers are "in" Christ and Christ "in" us (one cannot be a true believer otherwise), then the question is not one of proprietorship (our position), but one of partnership (practice).  In other words, Jesus IS LORD to the glory of God the Father, so for me it is not "making Him Lord" (I do not have the power nor authority to do that), but it is a matter of submitting (yielding) to His Lordship.

Believers sometime struggle with the flesh as Paul describes, but the struggle is settled when we simply by faith yield to our VICTORIOUS LORD.  That is the answer, not begging and pleading, but blessing and praising Him for what has ALREADY become an established fact.

PRAYER:  Father, I wanna always opposes your wanna, so help me recognize my will as it opposes your will, and to yield to your will so that it might become my will.
