Morning Moments

Matthew 2:16-18 (KJV)
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.
17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying,
18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

I have simply prayed and obeyed in sharing my thoughts on the subject of "It All Began With A Baby", and hopefully will continue to do so through Christmas.  Today I want to appeal to your imagination.  Imagine 5 or 6 cities about the size of New York City where the inhabitants are systematically destroyed by terrorists.  Then honestly answer the question, "What would you expect our government to do about it?

Here is another scenario to consider:  Recently it was reported that a U. S. hospital had I believe it was 19 boys born in a 60 hour period.  What would you expect to be done if a nurse had killed all of them?

Now, what would you do if a President of the United States gave the order to have the military kill every baby two years old and under?

I think the answers are obvious!  And yet we in the United States, since Roe v Wade have killed enough babies to have 5 or 6 cities populated the size of New York City.  THAT is TRAGIC!  It's all about a baby - Christmas, I mean!

God says "Children are a blessing", but we say they are a burden.  God says "blessed is the man who has his quiver full of them," but we say more than two is too many for anyone to have.  The fact is that our society has developed much the same attitude as Pharaoh as he hardened his heart toward the birth of the Hebrew children "All because of Jesus".

I understand that Jesus, the Jewish Messiah and our Lord and Savior has already come, but what I don't understand is the social attitude we have adopted about babies in general.  There will not be another Messiah born of woman, but there could be another "Esther" to save God's people from destruction or there could be another "Joshua" to lead the people of God into a deeper experience with God.

My writings on this subject are not chronological, but are simply thoughts as God gives them to me, so please bear with me and pray with me that I will be open to the Lord to see practical and applicational truths from the Christmas Story that will help us THINK, then PRAY and OBEY!
