Jeremiah 51:5 For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies
has not abandoned Israel and Judah.
He is still their God,
even though their land was filled with sin
against the Holy One of Israel.”
6 Flee from Babylon! Save yourselves!
Don’t get trapped in her punishment!
It is the Lord’s time for vengeance;
he will repay her in full.
7 Babylon has been a gold cup in the Lord’s hands,
a cup that made the whole earth drunk.
The nations drank Babylon’s wine,
and it drove them all mad.
8 But suddenly Babylon, too, has fallen.
Weep for her.
Give her medicine.
Perhaps she can yet be healed.

Babylon has always been used in the Bible to represent man's doings whether political, economical, ecclesiastical, or social.  The text above shows how God used literal Babylon to chasten His people, Israel.  But He makes it clear that the world is under the influence of this Heathen and Barbaric influence (the nations), just as wine will take control of one's mind, intoxicate and inebriated.  Man may loose control, nations may loose control, but GOD NEVER LOOSES CONTROL!  He uses, but never looses!

When we read the book of Revelation, we discover that in the days prior to the second coming of Jesus Christ, the nations will again become so intoxicated and inebriated with the wine of this Babylonian System that it will reel as a drunken sailor only concerned with pleasure, profits, and possessions.  In fact, it will become so dependent upon this entitlement society that in order to buy or sell, eat or drink, or to even exist, it will have to receive a unique identification or be subject to death.

The environment, the economy, the electorate, and the elite will all be given over to strong delusion to believe The Lie, that they ALL might be damned because they received not the knowledge of the truth.  Again, those rejecting this unique identification will be subject to death.

I realize this all sounds a bit extreme, but when we understand that NO nation nor international scheme or system NOR individual who rejects the TRUTH of God's Word will ever go unpunished.  Blessed is the nation whose God is The LORD!  Righteous exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to ANY people.  This world system in which we find ourselves is becoming more and more diametrically opposed to God's Word and Will and hence will be subjugated to a Babylonian System leading to a global economy and sociopolitical system.  Many do not see this because they prefer NOT to, but it is happening and will continue to happen until this entire system is ultimately destroyed by God and His Son rules the earth in righteousness.
