Morning Moments

Far too many of us believe whatever we hear.

Prov 18:17 Net Bible The first to state his case seems right,
until his opponent begins to cross-examine him.

There are some pretty some talkers out there!  In a world of monologue rather than dialogue, with TVs, Internet, etc.  It is so easy to hear something that sound good but indeed may not be.

For example:  The other day a church member friend of another city was being critical of his pastor for saying that Jesus "became sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God through Him", which is what the Scripture teaches in several places.

Some TV preacher - the guy doesn't see well so instead of reading for himself, he watches a lot of TV preachers - but some TV preacher had said that it would have been impossible for God to become sin, and since Jesus was God, Jesus could not have possibly become sin.

Well, that is like the logic of Roman Catholicism which deduces that Mary is the Mother of God:  Major premise - Jesus is God!  Minor premise - Mary is the mother of Jesus! CONCLUSION by deduction - Mary is the Mother of God!  WRONG!

Jesus was MAN - Perfect Man, as God intended man to be - without sin whatsoever, but He was also GOD and of course God does not and cannot die for God is SPIRIT, NOT HUMANITY!  Jesus, the Perfect Man, was "smitten of God and afflicted" and "bore our sins in His body on the tree..." Hence, HE, the MAN, Christ Jesus, cried out, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me."  THEN He said, "It is finished."  There are those who argue that God the Father did not do what Jesus said He DID do, but it was not God the Spirit rejecting Jesus' Spirit, but THAT BODY which was "prepared for HIM" as it was "written in the Book...I have come to do thy will of God!"

When my body dies, my spirit lives on, but my body could have never been a sacrifice for sin, for God demanded a perfect sacrifice and Jesus is the ONLY ONE!  But my spirit, which IS GOD'S returns to Him who gave it and to whom it belongs.

The Mystery of the Incarnation is that God was MANIFEST in the FLESH and as Paul said to the Philippians, "He (Jesus) considered not equality with God a thing to be grasped, held on to, or as the KJV says, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, being in the FORM of man.  BUT being in the FORM of man (fully surrendered to God the Father), he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, EVEN the death of the CROSS.  Wherefore GOD, by the ETERNAL SPIRIT raise Jesus from the dead (his physical body), and HIGHLY EXALTED HIM and has given Him a name above every name...

BE CAREFUL!  Because men's words may be appealing and sound convincing, if they are not CONSISTENT with the complete revelation of God, they should be REJECTED!  To say that Jesus did not become sin for us IS NOT true to the Word of God - REJECT IT!

BLESSINGS!
