THE GOD OF GLORY

Lk 2:20 So the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen; everything was just as they had been told.

It is that event that all people of faith in the one true God waited patiently for ever since God promised to crush the head of the serpent by the seed of the woman (Gen 3:15). No one could ever have imagined how God would or could do it, they just knew He said He would. Israel knew it would be a "man" to lead her out of the bondage of sin, for that was the prophecy, but she had no clue that God would do it this way - through a virgin born babe in a manger.

Please understand that the word Isaiah used for "virgin" was understood by the Jewish mind as a young woman. The New Testament word makes it unquestionable. So, the Orthodox Jew today is still looking for Messiah to come to establish His earthly kingdom, as HE (JESUS) will indeed do when He comes again.

The Western mind rarely comprehends the Eastern truth with diligently and objectively studying the Scripture text. Maybe it is also one of the reasons that Mary "kept all these things in her heart, wondering about them.". We take so much for granted in our Western Culture of this Twentith First Century. The TRUTH is not one that is understood by ability or intelligence, but by revelation alone. NO ONE has ever experienced, seen, nor heard of such a birth apart from the magnificent work of our Glorious God! No religion offers such a deity and none offers such evidence.

THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS TODAY AND THE DAYS TO COME as you celebrate Christmas - The Incarnatuion, when God became flesh to dwell among us that we might BEHOLD THE GOD OF GLORY and THE GLORY OF GOD!
