GOD IS AWESOME!
Less than two weeks out of complete knee replacement surgery and I got to preach twice yesterday! I sat of course, with my leg elevated, but by the grace of God we did it.
There have been so many praying for me and my wife, Janet has been such a wonderful help, but above all "God's grace is sufficient!"
When I was in the University of Alabama Hospital with cancer surgery in 2009, the nurse said, "He is independent." This time when in the Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital in Phinix City, AL, the nurse said, "He is stubborn." But I said, "I am determined." Whatever it is, it works, because I believe God is able to do exceeding, abundantly above ALL that we ask or think. I don't just believe God for a good doctor, but for the best. I don't just believe God for a good surgery, but for the best. I don't just believe God for a recovery, but for a COMPLETE one.
In my heart, I believe this is a testimony to the grace of God - His Grace plus my faith equals His glory! But understand that it doesn't mean no pain - just few or no pain pills. I find a greater tolerance. In doesn't mean no work; it means harder work than required. It doesn't mean no suffering, but it means no complaining in the suffering.
Paul tells us in (Gal 6:9) - And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
It is in the NOT FAINTING that the reaping comes! I BELIEVE that I shall no longer have that grinding knee. I believe I shall be able to get up and down with comfort and ease. I believe that I shall once again be able to make those mission trips and be with my precious brothers and sisters who had to help this old guy hobble to the pulpit to preach. I BELIEVE.
All I ask is the that YOU BELIEVE WITH ME!
BLESSINGS!
Thank you for patiently waiting and praying for my return to the blog.
