If we have not begun already, most of us will be singing Christmas carols for the next few days, then put them away for another year. As we sing them, let's take a real good look at the message in them. You may prefer the old ones that we have sung since we were little children or you may be more contemporary, but it really doesn't matter as long as we understand that it is not the rhythm or rhyme, it is the EVENT that we are celebrating - God SO loved that He GAVED! That is the story of Christmas, not that you and I give or receive, but that HE GAVE His only begotten Son.
