Ps 119:161
SCHIN - The 21st letter of the Hebrew alphabet and the sub-title for this section of Psalm 119. In the midst of persecution God's Word is still what we fear and not man or our circumstances. His Word is the object of my praise and hope. Regardless of the position of the persecutors or their cause, no fear of them is necessary. God will avenge our enemies.
By the way, those of us who are true believers are DEAD to slurs, sarcasm, and scoffing. We are Alive with Christ IN God.
PRAY AND OBEY!
Ps 119:162
The conqueror who finds treasure in his conquer cannot be compared to the saint who finds satisfaction in his Savior and the Scripture. It brings to me great rejoicing. "They words were found and I did eat them, and they were unto me the joy and rejoicing of my soul.
Ps 119:163
Jesus said, "I am...the truth". In Him there is NO lie - nor should there be in us. The devil is a liar and the father of lies. Which side are we on?
Proverbs 6 says God HATES a lying tongue. That certainly should be enough to keep us who love Him and His Word from lying. This is a love/hate relationship we have with Him; We love what He loves and hate what He hates.
Ps 119:164
Seven is, of course, the number of spiritual perfection, but it shows us here how faithful and fervent we should be in prayer, a part of which is praise. God never errs in His judgments, so we can praise the Lord all through the day and night.
Our foes may lie about us, but our Father loves us beyond human understanding. No wonder we are always praising Him.
Ps 119:165
Do you know of anyone who is also offended about something? It just shows that they do not love the governing principles of God's Word.
The peace of God is something no one else can give you and no one else can take it from you...BUT you can forfeit that peace with worry and fear.
Nothing offends us. Things may displease us because they displease God, but nothing but our own choice can impede our growth in grace and in the wisdom and knowledge of God.
Ps 119:166
The arm of flesh fails us, so we cannot trust anyone or anything about spiritual matters that contradict or counteract the will and word of God.
Our abiding confidence is in God's direction and deliverance as we continue in obedience to His Word.
Ps 119:167
The "record of witnesses" both Biblical and extra-Biblical convince me to keep His governing principles which I love beyond measure.
We must always align and arm ourselves with the Word of God and not trust our own understanding. God says it and that settles it and I love Him for it.
Ps 119:168
"Lord, you know everything about me; you always have and always will. My life is before you as an open book and you know the deepest motive of my heart. My earnest desire is to please You through my obedience and faithfulness to Your word.
I have treasured Your word IN my heart.
BLESSINGS!
